Worked on building a Kotlin re-write of the flagship Android app for one of Australia's largest fuel and convenience retailers — modernising incrementally with zero disruption to customers.

The flagship consumer app for one of Australia's largest fuel and convenience retailers. The challenge was modernising a live, high-traffic app without a big-bang rewrite — so the approach was the strangler pattern: new Kotlin/Compose code running alongside the legacy app, shipping continuously while the old code was retired piece by piece.

## Highlights

- Ground-up Kotlin re-write of Ampol's flagship Android app, using a strangler-pattern approach to run new and legacy code side by side so the app modernised incrementally without disrupting the existing customer base.
- Kept the app shipping to production on an uninterrupted release cadence throughout the full rebuild, meeting every milestone and quality commitment by coordinating closely with Ampol management and integration teams.
